7th Day of Christmas

It’s New Year’s Eve and many people are ready to see 2020 come to a close.  While there have been a lot of challenges this year, I’m not sure that I would call it a dumpster fire year.  We’ve had to pivot and be flexible but we are all healthy and mostly happy.

I spent the day doing normal Thursday things. Bill had a few work responsibilities but in between those, we ran a few errands.  It was nice to get out of the house and be together.

I used the end of the year motivation to wrap up some creative projects.  I photographed a lot of knits since the weather was decent. I also made a fabric gift bag.  I have wanted to make these for a very long time but Bill always vetoed them. The boys would get into them, he said, before Christmas and ruin the surprise.  This year he conceded.

He likes to wrap the entire shipping boxes from places like Amazon and fill them with smaller, wrapped gifts. He has taken to using the Christmas themed fabric gift bags we already have and told me what we could use was large ones for the big boxes. They require a lot of paper and we are trying to be more ecological.  I was delighted!

I bought this fabric when we lived in Loma Linda for a steal.  I have lots of it and it will be perfect.  I made one tonight as my finish for my monthly challenge. I plan to make many more until I use all the fabric I have. Nothing like waiting until the end of the month. I’ll share more about my WIP challenge another time.

This evening Walker had plans to ring in the New Year with some of his friends but before he left, we all went to mass at Notre Dame in Bethlehem. I chose this church for the destination and was somewhat disappointed to discover we ended up only traveling to Pennsylvania. Oh well!

Mason, Bill and I had a nice dinner before he bid us adieu and we old folks went to bed.  It was a happy night for all Selbys.
