To catch up on the last few days, let’s begin with a growth check of Grogu. He’s getting nice and bushy.
Wednesday brought an unexpected virtual day of learning. There was impeding snow forecasted for the dismissal hour so many schools were called off. Mason got to do asynchronous learning, his favorite kind, because he could work at his own pace and in his own way. Walker was sent off to school because Signature is like that. I went with the flow, zooming with knitting friends, attending meetings and working out as I normally would and enjoyed having Mason’s company. Everyone was home for Caesar salad and pasta dinner topped with a delicious eggplant stew.
Thursday I was waitlisted for the evening shift at the vaccine clinic but I didn’t find out until 2 pm that they were going to have me come in. The timing worked out very well as I was able to drive Mason to and from school and then get to my shift. Walker drove Mason to work and Bill picked him up. My getting to volunteer is indeed a team effort.
I was a greeter at the clinic so I got to work the door and direct folks to check in and then vaccinators. In my downtime, I worked on this new hat whose color pooling delights me. I was happy to get off 45 minutes early and be home by 9:30 pm, in time to eat dinner and go straight to bed.
That brings us to Friday. Bill was off and we had nothing on the schedule. We spent the day together hanging out. We each worked on home tasks and made dents in our projects.
When he brought in the mail, I was treated to the nicest surprise. Several years ago, I became online friends with a knitter in New York State. She is one of those incredibly generous souls who uses her talent for the greater good. She donates and gifts most of her projects. During the pandemic, she shifted her focus to sewing masks and she has been sharing photos of them online with me. I was blown away when I opened the package she sent of more than thirty masks in two styles and sizes. They are amazing! I am grateful for these gestures big and small that bring kindness to the world.
