I am not a super crunchy granola person (though I do make a mean batch) but I am becoming more and more aware of what kind of footprint I want to leave. To that end, I have been seeking an alternative to cotton balls for makeup removal. A while back I knit some little squares out of cotton yarn but they were not quite soft enough for my eyes. Then I remembered the flannel scraps a friend gave me.
They are bright and colorful and, importantly, they will hide any traces of makeup that don’t come out after they are washed. Over a period of several sewing sessions, I sewed up about 50 of these little squares. They are simple enough to make. I cut 3” squares, sewed them right sides together leaving a little gap for turning. I clipped the corners, flipped them right side out and then top stitched them around. I am so happy with them. They are soft, they do their job perfectly AND they are recyclable.
oh my goodness. I want to steal this idea….so good
