When the boys got wind that the AAP National Conference was in Orlando, they started campaigning to go. It’s getting harder to pull them from school so we kept their trip short. Bill and Mason headed down last night. After breakfast, Bill and Mason parted ways. While Bill was at the conference, Mason had a taste of independence and adventure.
It started with a milkshake at Johnny Rocket’s, followed by a midday matinee of Bohemian Rhapsody and ended with a visit to a comic book store called Gods and Monsters.
He proudly hired three Uber drivers and safely returned to the hotel. I loved his summary of the experience.
The last hurrah was dinner together at Medieval Times, an experience Bill has wanted to share with Mason for quite some time. Mason really enjoyed the jousting tournament with real weapons and watching sparks fly. At the Royal Court, they feasted on garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, sweet buttered corn, herb-basted potatoes and the pastry of the Castle.
I do believe today was a great start to our conference weekend.
