On Christmas eve morning, Bill realized he didn’t have his credit card. He traced his steps all over, searching everywhere and returned to the last place he had used it. The mechanic was closed and he didn’t see the card in the parking lot. After careful monitoring that it was not being used, we crossed our fingers and locked the card. We felt that if it had been found at this time of the year, it would be in rapid use.
Then we crossed our fingers and waited. The mechanic called this morning at 7 am, before Bill had a chance to call him, and said he found the card in the card reader! Rejoice!
The boys settled in to a lovely day of lounging, playing with video games, and eating us out of house and home. Vacation brings serious munchies! Though I was really tired, I was industrious, tidying the house as well as I could. Some days the housekeeping struggle is more real than others. Now that Christmas day has passed, there are gifts to put away, thank you notes to write and, of course, laundry to be done. In an effort to find order again, I worked on cleaning up and I made good progress.
Dinner was a delight because I eked out one more night of leftovers with the lasagna and manicotti for the family and we all were home to enjoy it together. I celebrate these party of four dinners as I know they are soon going to be a thing of the past. In the meantime, all is well.
