The festivities began at dawn when Mason leapt out of bed to be the first one to wish Walker happy birthday.
Bill and I dined with him at lunch and he doled out a Brookie to each member of the fifth grade and the teachers as well.
After school we had a seek and find present extravaganza. Thank goodness I took notes where we hid them as Mason got more clever this year than just behind the chair.
Big surprises for Walker from Mason were the two brand new Lego Minecraft kits.
I’m not sure what Mason thought about the new Camelback but clearly he had something to say.
Our son loves action, science fiction and fantasy movies so we bought him an assortment.
Auntie Mo and the gang sent him a super Amazon gift certificate.
The last gift was much harder to find because it was not with the others.
As a good will gesture and younger brother surprise, Mason found a gift stashed between the beanbags.
Boy, was he excited!
Walker’s last words to me last night were, “Mom, BQ.”
“Hmm?” I asked.
“Birthday quilt. Remember?”
Of course I did. It warmed my heart that he did too.
He was poised to hurl his new yo-yo in the above photo.
Walker chose The Olive Garden for dinner and cousin Kim was able to meet us. Yay!
But wait, there’s more! After the birthday cake at dinner, he ran off with Bill to his scout meeting.
Happy birthday, Walker!
Even the wardrobe echoes how fortunate Walker and Mason are.
Just looked back at old posts to see how much Walker has grown in relation to the “BO”. The pictures and differences starting at age 5, the first year he posed in front of the quilt, are just amazing! Walker, please be kind, don’t call me “Shorty”,!
Minecraft Legos! Cool! Love the BQ and the hiding of the presents!
