This morning was Breakfast with Santa, the annual gathering hosted by the PTSA and catered by the Boy Scout troop. This year Bill invited the Webelos to come along and do some of the cooking. I went along as well to watch how things were done.
Behind the scenes, a full breakfast was being prepared.
Sam and Mason represented the Cub Scouts but in two months they will both be official members of the Boy Scout crew.
We had a great turnout of scouts and the event was a success.
Yesterday, after we went to Mass and dropped Walker off for his youth group field trip to Las Posadas near St. Louis, Mason and I met with our 4-H group to shop for the family our club adopted for Christmas. We shopped at a local big box store and then went to a member’s house to gift wrap. Just before the meeting wrapped up, they played a really fun game. A pile of candy canes was spilled in the center of the table. Each person got a candy cane to put in his mouth and use as a tool to gather as many candy canes as he could in front of him. The person with the most candy canes at the end of the timed game won. As you can see, Mason did quite well!
Shopping with the kids is always a positive experience. It serves as such a good reminder how blessed we are in our everyday lives. Giving is good!
