Mason is my hero. He has been a chronic allergy sufferer for most of his life and years ago he received allergy shots. Then one day, he strongly voiced a preference to stop and to just rely on oral medications for relief. Lately, the allergies have seemed to be annoying enough that he acquiesced to testing.
Pricking a thirteen year old is a lot easier than testing a four year old. He patiently sat through the twenty minute waiting period the results could be read.
Not only did he react, but he had quite a reaction. We discovered that he is mainly allergic to household irritants like dust, several trees and some pets. Boohoo. Though not his favorite solution, he is willing to return to allergy shots. Let’s hope for relief.
I hate allergies. Matthew especially is allergic to ragweed. He starts each school year feeling miserable. Plus surrounding the Marching Band practice field are 2 fields of ragweed….it is like they are trying to kill him! He did feel better when he took allergy shots, but not very practical in college.
