For the second year, two of my knitting friends and I banded together to create a fiber advent calendar. We each collected eight 10 gram balls of fingering weight yarn and sent them off to the others. I will share more about the packaging in the next few days but for now, I’m just going to share my progress.
This is, of course, yesterday’s start. My goal is to keep up each day with knitting the day’s treat. I thought it more important to share about the special birthday boy than my yarn.
Today I added another section to my shawl. If all goes well, it is going to look like plaited wheat.
I am knitting up a Speltas stole and it’s designed for this exact situation using 25 mini skeins. I am eager to see how mine will work out in the yarns that my friends and I have chosen.
I love the group nature of this project!
