This morning we had the sudden inspiration and desire to take advantage of Bill’s free Saturday with no work responsibilities and drive to St. Louis to pick up bookshelves for Mason’s room. The weather was dreary and wet, precluding any walks for us, so it was actually a perfect day to go. Mason zonked the whole way there and much of the way back after his all-nighter at Chris’s house.
We arrived at IKEA just before 11 am, made our way through the maze that is their showroom and completed our purchases in a record two hours. Back on the road, we were home by dinner.I made good use of our car time, finishing one coffee cozy and knitting three. (They take roughly about an hour each.)
On our way back, Mason and I streamed Mass from Catholic TV out of Newton, Massachusetts.
We discovered before we left this morning that we had not escaped the power outage unscathed. The surge fried the circuit board on our interior refrigerator. Thankfully, we have a secondary in the garage and Bill kindly transferred everything over. This made having leftovers for dinner our best choice. Everyone had a bit of a smorgasbord supper which we ate while watching our last episode of the Mandalorian. Then it was off to bed for us all.
