This meme is compliments of Bill’s friend, Jen, a PICU specialist who is now seeing adults due to the high numbers of Covid patients in the hospitals.
Bill was off work today and in and out. He had an appointment and then took Walker to get his passport renewed. Even though we can’t go anywhere any time soon, Walker’s needed an update now that he is an adult.
Meanwhile, in the flurry of the morning, I heard a thunk in the garage. I thought Bill and Walker had returned from the post office but when I opened the door, I saw no one there. The mystery was solved when they actually did return and the garage door wouldn’t open. Our spring broke! Thankfully, within 90 minutes of the call to the repair folks, a technician was out to implement a temporary fix. Phew! A new set of spring will be ordered and installed soon.
We puttered around the house for the rest of the day, decluttering, writing thank you notes and donating the desk that Mason had outgrown. Then Bill and I went grocery shopping, dropped off library books through the curbside box and settled in at home. It was a rainy day, perfect for hunkering down.
Dinner was a wonderful hodgepodge of must go* meals. I had my yummy leftover vegetable soup and a bran muffin, I made a vegetable frittata and roasted potatoes for Bill and Walker and Mason was pleased with a buffalo chicken breast and salad.
Tomorrow is the last day of 2020!
*Must go is the term I used when I incorporate pantry and fridge items that must go into a dish before they perish.
