Both boys were out of school today in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. They enjoyed the opportunity to sleep in and laze the day away and I did my best to let them unencumbered by chores “because they were home.” (I make no friends that way.)
In the meantime, I worked on the never ending laundry and my blog writing. I also got to visit with several friends online and even see one face to face. Jeanna needed a little help with her knitting so we met at Hobby Lobby. Though I see her regularly on a computer screen, face to face was much better. So much better! Furthermore, because I met her, I got to experience the bright, strong sunshine that I might have otherwise missed.
Tomorrow I have a volunteer shift at the hospital again immediately followed by adoration. To streamline things, I meal prepped several salads at once. This was a touch trickier because our Misfits order was delayed due to the holiday and we were out of lettuce and greens. I was pretty pleased with myself for concocting three chopped salads with other veggies.
The rest of the day went smoothly and we polished off the last of the Chinese food leftovers for dinner. We are all set for a great week ahead.
