Sound Bites & Snap Shots

I knew my birthday was off to a great start when my family surprised me with breakfast in bed. Being as caught up in the culinary cosmos as we are, they prepared for me a beautiful omelet with fresh spinach and feta, topped with two slices of heirloom tomatoes. On the side were two slices of granny smith apple with melted brie cheese and five cherries.  My favorite mug was filled with decaf and all the sides I love were at the ready. Of course, I even had the birthday quilt on my lap. They sure know the way to my heart.

Here is my gratitude list for the day:

The boys treated me to a lovely lunch at China Bistro. 

We had family dinner at home and watched a Cutthroat Kitchen marathon.

I slept eight hours last night.  I was really tired and needed that extra rest.

I received oodles of calls and text messages.  I felt incredibly loved.

The boys surprised me with very thoughtful gifts.  This was a challenge since Mason was gone all last week and they typically shop as a group. I received two brain puzzles, a couple of books (one to read now and a gift card to choose one to read with Mason later).

I am going to sleep well and with a very happy heart.  Thank you to my family and all of my friends for making me feel so loved.
