The internet has changed the way people connect. I have been watching one of my favorite knitting podcasters for several years so I feel like I know her. It’s kind of a one-sided relationship though because she can’t hear me when I talk to the screen. When I learned that she was celebrating her birthday with a Zoom Pandemic Birthday Party, I added the date and time to my calendar. This was my opportunity to have real time interaction with her.
I cast on a hat of her design in her favorite color orange when I logged on. I made some progress while we were together. I didn’t say much on the Zoom call because many of the others where far more acquainted with Cori and it was hard to get a word in edgewise.
Backing up to this morning, we began our day in a quiet and peaceful way with Mass. Then I tackled a few items on my to do list. I wrote a number of postcards and notes because I still love sending good old fashioned mail. The pandemic has reminded me how important it is to be in touch with people in many different ways.
Bill treated us to Wasabi sushi for dinner and I made sides. I prepared Misfits fennel, collard greens, zucchini and green beans in three different style dishes. We ordered multiple rolls, a few appetizers and then shared them.
Bringing dinner in was such a treat because we have been doing a lot of home cooking.
After dinner we played a game of Monopoly. This crowd is fierce but we had fun.
