This year for Thanksgiving we stuck close to home. We missed spending the holiday with the Sandersons but it was also very nice to have a long weekend in our neck of the woods.
Mason really wanted to return to our tradition of seeing the circus so we made a family outing of it.
The performances met with big smiles by many spectators.
Meanwhile, while I watched the activity in the three rings, I had my needles clicking. My next door neighbor commissioned several hats for her sister who has cancer. The first is a very simple sleep hat, perfect for knitting in the dark. Here is where I was at the start of the circus.
At intermission I had gotten further.
By the end of the show, the hat had grown about five inches. I was so happy!
The timing of a turkey dinner would have been tricky after a three o’clock performance so we had a non-traditional Thanksgiving meal tonight of sausage lasagna, salad and bread. I’ll pull out the turkey and fixings one day this weekend for sure. In the meantime, we all enjoyed our day and the time with shared together.
Three cheers for flexibility!
