Today I ventured outside to fill the bird feeders which is to say, I rang the proverbial dinner bell. Our yard became the meeting place for many different birds but especially for the starlings.
This one decided to take a break from the chow and rested on the kitchen sill. I was so happy to see him and even more surprised that he was parked long enough for me to grab the DSLR. Starlings have a bad rap among bird enthusiasts because they will dominate the feeders and eat like gluttons. However, the sign of life outside was a welcome treat. We’ll just have to see how long they stick around after the feeders are empty.
What a delight!
Aweesome pictures.
NO MORE SNOW!
OOps that comment was for the pics of boys in the snow but I must have hit back 🙂
Our neighborhood now has squirrels. (Seriously, we had none when we moved in and this neighborhood is not that young.). Joel really loves to grab photos when they stray close. Today he wasn’t as fast as you were. I too am happy to see nature this time of year. I also was happy that it is still light out past 6!
