The Evansville Half Marathon has a special place in my heart. With our busy schedule, I wasn’t really sure I would be able to do it this year. I half-heartedly trained, signed up later than usual and showed up not knowing exactly how I would do.
I met up with these lovely ladies at the start. Amy, on the left, has run a bunch of halves but Barbara, in the middle, was doing her inaugural half marathon to celebrate her 50th birthday which falls in a few days. I was so happy to wish them well at the beginning of the race.
I lined up with Kristen, another friend, at the start and then split off and ran my own race. I occasionally saw into others I knew and even got to take advantage of another friend’s cheering squad. My pace was just a bit faster than hers so her fans saw me and knew she was coming soon.
I crossed the finish line with pep in my step. It was a great race!
I got a medal to prove it!
You never cease to amaze me!
Nice work!
