It’s the annual Breakfast with Santa event! This year the scouts have even greater participation as they are handling the front of the house AND the back of the house. The PTSA is still responsible for collecting the funds and coordinating with Santa but the event is essentially ours. Cathy, the new scoutmaster’s wife, took the helm and did a fabulous job.
She arranged for all of the decorations and the activities. Saturday night a small group of scouts decorated the center and Sunday morning the rest of the scouts helped set the tables. Craft and game tables lined the perimeter of the room and were staffed by scouts and students.
Meanwhile, the scoutmaster created a checklist for the patrol leaders to use to make sure the scouts in the back of the house stayed on track.
We had a great turnout of help with scouts of all ages and lots of parents too.
After the first round of guests were served, the scouts enjoyed their breakfast.
The troop is in good hands with Brad, the new scoutmaster. His new appointment is allowing Bill to enjoy the rank of assistant scoutmaster and the freedom to step back a little bit. He stepped back so far today that he is actually in another state. More about that soon.
That was a huge project…way to go scouts!
