The weather was crisp for a weekend of camping at Camp Ondessonk but that did not deter the boys from having fun. Today’s group included Cole, Luke, Mason, Bill, Blake, Blake’s dad, Triston and Triston’s dad. They arrived Friday night and stayed in the unit of Garnier.
Hiking, exploring, skipping stones and tossing rocks were on the agenda. They trekked out to Trigg Tower and climbed up to see the vistas.
At some point, they stumbled upon what I believe was this cemetery. I believe it was a new find for our group.
Back near Garnier, they started skipping stones and throwing large rocks off the bridge.
Of course, no trip to Ondessonk would be complete without a few games of gaga.
Other notes to recall from the weekend…
Mason was the grub master. The group decided upon oatmeal and fruit for breakfasts, Saturday lunch was ramen and dinner was a baked ziti. We had prepped some of the ingredients ahead of time since we knew it was going to be cold for outdoor cooking. Probably one of the highlights was the desserts they made with with bananas, cinnamon Chex mix and chocolate bars wrapped in foil.
Mason is on his way to chiefdom.
That is supposed to be “chiefdom”! Darn auto-correct.
