Catching up on the last few days, I’m happy to report I have felt great after my first dose of the vaccine. My arm was a little tender where I got the injection and sore when I lifted my arm, but otherwise I had no side effects.
The other health update is for Walker. Tuesday when I was at the vaccine clinic, he texted that he had vomited on his way to school. Before Covid, we might have handled it differently but in this case, Bill jumped in, got him a 10:15 AM appointment at the clinic and had him get tested for Covid. The doctor said it looked like he was just experiencing the stomach bug that is going around. Walker went home and schooled virtually.
This morning after I got Mason to school, I zoomed with my original knitting posse. The group changed first when Mary Alice moved to Indianapolis in 2018 and then with Covid when we stopped meeting in person. Mary Alice’s husband passed away on September 18th from cancer and we weren’t able to be there physically to support her. This gathering was the first one since he died and our effort to surround her in hugs worked well.
At lunch, I met with Angie, one of the nurses at Bill’s office. She is trying to learn how to crochet and asked for help. I made this dishcloth as a sample to share with her. Teaching her was a great challenge as she is left-handed and I am stronger with knitting than crochet. I feel just one step ahead of her so we are helping each other.
The other exciting news is Bill’s new tires were installed on his Mazda. As a car junkie, he did A LOT of research and finally chose Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4. He picked up his car at lunch and as he drove away, the radio station played “On the Road Again” by Willie Nelson. What timing! He is incredibly pleased with the road performance of his new tires and notices a great improvement in how the car handles.
Lastly, I found one more dishcloth in my purse that I had made for my friend Laura. I had been on autopilot when I made them and never counted. I was so surprised to find a seventh one and happily dropped it off at her house today along with a bottle of Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon Verbena Surface Spray. The scent was too strong for us and I knew she would enjoy it. I always love sharing with friends!
