Christmas at The Reitz House

This year Bill’s colleague Tony and his wife Nieva hosted the annual Christmas party in the Carriage House at The Reitz Home. This is a historic Victorian house that belonged to one of Evansville’s legacy families. The residence is always worth a visit as it’s filled with history but at Christmas, it’s even better. Each of the rooms is decorated for Christmas.  As a treat, Tony and Nieva arranged for us to tour before the party started.

After dinner, it was time for the Christmas shenanigans which included a Family Feud quiz show. Following that was the rousing Dirty Santa gift exchange.  This year both Bill and I each contributed a gift.  I brought the drill that I had won last year.

Someone clever brought this giant teddy bear with suture removal kit and a letter attached. The letter said that the bear had some unexpected treasures inside but the sutures could only be removed by the final owner of the bear.  That bear was a hot item.  It got swapped every single round until the very end.

We all had a lovely time.  Next year is our turn to host and we are already starting to toss around ideas.  Merry Hebron Christmas!
