This was the first year that all the gifts have been placed under the tree as they were wrapped and ready and boy, were the kids ready to see what was inside of them.
I am still hoping that one day I’ll be able to make and use fabric gift bags (like these I made for Monique this year) instead of paper, but I keep getting a “Negative, ghost rider” response from Bill.
We had a wonderful time opening presents. In our house, Bill is the mastermind behind most of the gifts given which makes it hard to surprise him. However, Mason pulled this one off with the Complete Collection of Calvin and Hobbs.
Funny socks were a big hit with both boys and coincidentally, Rachel somehow knew that Mason would get a pair about bacon. Her annual cross stitched ornaments are always treasured and themed for our family.
Walker’s featured the Camp Ondessonk logo
and ours was a winter church scene.
We had a lovely day which started early (even though we went to bed late after midnight mass) and our traditional steel cut oats for breakfast shown here in my new pottery bowl handmade by my friend Jeanna. We lounged for the day, read, connected with family and went to bed early. It was a heavenly day!
