Today I needed a slow paced day. I didn’t sleep well thanks to what I think was real coffee on the drive home from Ferdinand yesterday. I was up super early and just got busy with some things that make me happy. I wrote a bunch of correspondence cards and worked on my blog. I finished the advent shrug I was working on all of December and put it aside. I am not deeply in love with it at this moment but I hope I come around. I also read my new book and started a new little hat.
Meanwhile, my honey worked on his list. Last week when we fixed the washer, he detected a very small leak in the valve. This is one of those home improvement projects that I wouldn’t trust myself with but Bill is Mr. Fix It lately. He attended his class at the University of YouTube, measured, documented with loads of photos and set off to find the part at Lowe’s. He wasn’t able to find the exact part locally but Amazon once again came to the rescue.
Back at home, he tackled the next two items on his list. He cut plywood and metal brackets to reinforce our outside nutcrackers so they will be ready to suit up next Christmas. He also fixed the inner guts of one of our door handles. We had thought we were going to have to replace the door handle itself but thanks to good customer service, they shipped us the parts gratis. Woohoo!
Mason had his favorite kind of Sunday where he filled up on television shows, video games, and snacks and Walker did much the same.
I got the delightful gift of a long telephone chat with Monique. The purpose of our call was to review our 21 for 2021 lists. This is an activity we have done for several years inspired by Gretchen Rubin. The 21 for 2021 is much more fun than a list of resolutions. We try to put things on them that can be accomplished quickly and others that are more long term. Discussing our lists filled my cup for most of the day.
We had a yummy dinner of Chinese food from our favorite local spot, Szechwan Garden. I really appreciated this treat as we ease our way into the upcoming week.
