All wrapped up and ready for delivery…two packages of four dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies to thank my Starbucks baristas and auto detailers* for treating me so well.
Kay, one of my knitting friends, shared this recipe with me. She told me the recipe yielded a lot of cookies but I was really not prepared for exactly how many. I was generous with my portions and I got more than ten dozen.
Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 pound butter (softened)
1.5 cups granulated sugar
2 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
1 can sweetened condensed milk
6 cups of flour
1 tablespoon baking soda
36 ounces chocolate chips
Cream together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Add eggs and sweetened condensed milk. Beat three minutes. Blend together flour and baking soda in a separate bowl. Add gradually to mixture; do not over mix. Stir in chocolate chips. Dough may be chilled before baking but it’s not necessary. Roll into heaping teaspoon size balls, slightly flatten on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 12 dozen.
I used my new cookie scoop for these and now I’ll never go back. Who knew it would make cookie prep so much faster, better and easier?
*I neglected to mention that several weeks ago, I was parked in a parking lot when another driver pulled in next to me. She was in a hurry and accidentally scratched the right side of my car. I wanted to thank my auto detailers for working magic on my car.
I have never seen condensed milk in a cookie recipe– I am intrigued and can’t wait to try this!
I hadn’t either but boy, these cookies are popular in my house and everywhere I take them. I hope you enjoy!
