In our third cake decorating class, we dug deeper into the assortment of tips and unearthed a few that would create flowers. First Walker learned how to make the mum style on the cupcake. It looked a little like hair but I am discovering how versatile these tips are. If we changed the orientation of our hands and the pressure we applied, the results looked so different.
I was reminded how to make the leaves with Wilton #67 and how to properly use the bird beak tip (Wilton #352).
Walker decorated the cupcakes in a variety of styles. Those flowers will take a day or so to set up and harden and then they can be placed on a cake or cupcake if they hang around that long.
Mason eagerly awaited our return so he could dig in and enjoy a jumbo cupcake.
This assignment is proof that some flowers are indeed edible.
Camille says, “yumm, can you make one for me?”
I love that Mason gets to reap the rewards on this one! Walker’s designs are rather fancy!
