When cousins love each other as much as ours do, every minute matters and destinations don’t really matter. We discovered the kids enjoyed walking along paths and splashing in the pool as much as they enjoyed the zoo and the mission. It was just time together that mattered. We took advantage of every minute before we had to head over to the convention center for the final AAP event on our agenda.
Every year we look forward to the Pediatric Bowl where three local residency programs are pitted against each other in a Jeopardy style competition. This year the contenders were the Naval Medical Center, UCI/CHOC Children’s/Miller’s Children’s, and UC San Diego/Rady Children’s.
These contestants were competing for the prestigious Meconium Cup and huge bragging rights.
After many rounds of fun and interesting questions, the winners were declared.
We hated to see the Bowl end because it signaled the end of our trip as well. The kids did not want to part ways with their cousins nor I with my family. Thankfully we all flew out on the same airline and only thirty minutes apart.
Anyone for the witch’s broom or cat’s cradle? Camille is a pro.
What a super trip! We are all exhausted but once we get home, we have to hit the ground running.
Great pictures and great memories. Dad and I returned to San Diego for a few days at Thanksgiving. There were little spirits reminding us of this visit with all of you.
Love this visual reminder.
Camille looks like she could be your daughter!
