I got up early and went for a brisk walk outside. I listened to my podcasts and said a morning rosary. Then I headed to Starbucks. I mobile ordered my coffee so I could avoid the long drive-thru line and when I picked it up, I was treated to a delightful surprise: nonfat foam! I cannot customize this option on the app but when the baristas saw the order, they prepared my usual drink. I cannot express how great this felt and tasted. It was like a liquid hug!
Furthermore, that is my new mask. I won it on the 2 Knit Lit Chicks podcast which I was listening to when I picked up my coffee. It was made a fellow listener who offered 25 to be raffled. It is my first fabric mask and I love the knitting themed fabric.
Joey’s Yankees block came out better than I hoped. I really wanted to preserve the baseball patches that he had earned from the coach for good hits and plays in the games. While the block doesn’t look like a regular T-shirt, I was able to get all the key components within the 15” square.
Today I also was able to work on the next step in the quilt process. To find a visually pleasing layout in color and value is like playing Tetris. Luckily, my dear sister-in-law, Rachel, is a pro at this game. Via texts and multiple photos, we landed on a winner. Now that I have arrived at this stage, I am eager to keep going.
Other happy notes included spotting an elusive indigo bunting at our feeders, FaceTime knitting with my Illinois friends Peggy and Britni, Bill’s assistance with Walker’s paper, and Mason’s inquiry about the training for his summer job at Holiday World.
