Breakfast with Santa has come to mean new things to our family. The boys have outgrown the arts and craft activities, sitting on Santa’s lap and listening to Christmas carols and stories but they have grown into their new roles as breakfast chefs. This event is one of the biggest fundraisers for the troop. We do the shopping and prepare the meal and a school committee takes care of the other details.
Flipping pancakes is one of the coveted jobs usually reserved for older scouts but this year, the new guys got a chance to make them.
Walker and I had to leave breakfast early so we could get out to New Harmony in time for his choral performance with the Signature Singers. He has had a few opportunities to perform thus far but this was the first that I could attend. The venue was really wonderful for this concert.
The Singers did a great job and were praised by their instructor who had been out on sick leave for a few weeks for back surgery. One great thing about this class is the exposure Walker is getting to some traditional standards. Occasionally, he bursts into song and it’s great.

*This song was one of my favorite. The Singers also sang it acapella and I could have listened to it on loop.
Love Carol of the Bells, but my fav is Do You Hear What I Hear?
