Sound Bites & Snap Shots

This handsome chap is nine!

Here are nine Walker favorites…

Meal—mashed potatoes, Mrs. Green’s gravy and gnocchi followed by pasta, pasta and more pasta with parmesan cheese. He also loves hamburgers and Bill’s specialty popcorn made with our old fashioned popcorn pot.

Restaurant—Red Robin. We had his birthday dinner there tonight.  He ordered Macaroni and Cheese (a form of pasta and cheese).

Pastimes—Playing video games on the DSi, Wii and iPad, going for bike rides and now practicing his Trixstix.

Summer Spot—Holiday World. He loves roller coasters and the water attractions.  The two are married in one park and he loves it! He will ride the most thrilling roller coasters, water coasters and water slides with no fear.

Toys—Lego kits and Pokémon cards.  He still has a fondness for his Beyblades too.

Books—Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Harry Potter.  He also likes to read Captain Underpants, The Magic Tree House and Superfudge.

Movies—All of the Harry Potter movies and lately Spy Kids.  Interestingly, last year we couldn’t get him to go to a movie.  However, when the first part of Harry Potter 7 came out earlier in the year, he insisted he wanted to see it with Bill.  Not only did he see it with him, he saw it with me too. Once he saw that, he was gung ho on movies and we haven’t turned back since.

Accomplishments—Walker is an avid reader, a fantastic speller and now a whistler.  He was one of the top popcorn salesmen from his Cub Scout Pack last year.  He made his first Reconciliation and his First Communion. He walked over 107 miles last year during the school walking program.

Endearing qualities—I love Walker’s tenderness toward his brother, his heartwarming smile, his curiosity about life (and incessant questions), his spikey hair and his spunky personality.
