We were all quite surprised yesterday morning when the school board closed the schools in anticipation of the snow. At 7 AM yesterday, it wasn’t even raining and many people (myself included), were hoping for early dismissal so we wouldn’t lose another day. At 10 am we had sleeting rain and then by 1 pm, the snow started falling steadily. We woke up to about 6-8 inches of powdery light snow.
The boys played outside for a while while I shoveled. After two hours, I had the driveway and sidewalks cleared. It was an incredibly gratifying form of cross training because I used a whole different set of muscles.
Walker spent part of his morning building this tank and Mason ran out to play with friends. There was sledding around the neighborhood and snowball fights outside.
That afternoon, I sent Mason out to get a bowl of fresh powder and we made snow ice cream. The recipe made more than enough to share with a friend.
Now we will have to wait and see what the school situation is like for tomorrow but for now, we are enjoying the days off.
Sounds like a fun day! Now, snow ice cream! Cool!
Anything like a snow cone?
