I got an early start on the day because I had plans to meet a friend at 7:30 am for a little socially distant knitting. I love the Tuesday mornings when I wake up to my friend Cori’s podcast. Her episodes are just about an hour and she is full of great content and stories to help me pass the time on the Bow Flex.
Before heading to the prayer garden gazebo to knit with Rachel, I mobile ordered my coffee at Starbucks. It was the first time I was able to go into the store in months. They had stacked all the tables and chairs, taped a path for flow of traffic, and placed Twister dots on the floor to maintain distance while we waited. Though it all felt very different, it was largely reassuring to see the baristas at work again.
Walker’s been back at work for about ten days now. Since his summer job at Camp Ondessonk as a counselor is on hold, I’m really grateful that he had already had the job at Sky Zone. Today he worked a sanitation shift which may not have taken place or been as thorough prior to the pandemic.
Mason and I made a special trip to the barber. He had really enjoyed letting his hair grow out for the last few months but tomorrow he has his first day of training at Holiday World and he wanted to be presentable.
I met up virtually with my Illinois knitting friends today too! While I was talking with them, I worked on another helical coffee cozy. I want to make a bunch for Christmas time.
We had a fun family dinner this evening after Bill got home from work and got ready for the later events of the week.
