One of my friends has just taking on quilting and is celebrating a birthday. What fun it was for me to pull through some scraps and make her a sweet gift.
She is now the owner of a new pincushion and a needle book.
To make the pincushion, I did a pair of improv blocks, quilted them each with some batting and then sewed them together. It’s filled with crushed walnut shells for weight.
The needle book is similarly made with an improv rectangle quilted to batting. I added some batting in the center as pages and used a small piece of elastic as a loop for the button closure.
I had a lot of fun playing in the scraps and letting myself go where the spirit moved me. I hope she likes it too.
There is everything to like
Very cool!
