Lesson two of the cake decorating class required us to bring a baked cake to class so we could learn how to divide it, level the top, insert a filling between the layers and then ice the outside. Walker used the water bottle to spritz the cake and smooth out all the wrinkles. Meanwhile, as the cake dried, he practiced today’s techniques: zigzags, dots, balls and swirls.
Finally it was time to put it all together on the cake itself.
Walker chose the colors of the cupcake and came up with the color switching border himself.
Once we got home, Mason and Walker were happy to sample it and they attested that it tasted as good as it looked.
Fabulous job!
