On Friday our special work team called to say the cement was being poured. Since I was in Indianapolis, I was grateful Bill could be there to take photos and pay for the delivery. We paid for eight yards of cement/concrete and we had ten minutes per yard to unload it. Our crew got it done in 30 minutes.
They prepped the pit area with a wire mesh to reinforce the concrete. Then, before the cement was poured, they put a leveling stake in the center. They made sure it was level with the form on the outside.
Throughout the process they used that stake and a rod to keep the cement surface level.
At the very end, they smoothed the surface over.
Saturday the wood frame was removed and the surface scored.
It’s all ready now for the next workday on June 29th.
