Sunday’s letter of the day is P. We started with prayer at Mass. There are many, many multigenerational families at St. John’s so when we get to join the likes of them, I always have such a feeling of peace and wellbeing. Call me sentimental. It’s a title I can bear.
After Mass, Papa and Mason started carving out his block of wood for the annual pinewood derby contest next month. The timing worked out again that our master woodworker was on site to help with the job. Don’t worry, Mason did don safety glasses for part of the job.
I’m a sucker for pictures of hands at work, especially hands belonging to people I love.
Later we headed out for an early dinner at Logan’s Roadhouse. It was relatively recently that we discovered that Walker really enjoys steak. Mason is a big fan of the fact that each table comes with two buckets—one filled with peanuts and the other waiting to deposit the shells.
It was a long wait in a dimly lit area but I wanted to document that yes, we were indeed there!
Love that your dad could be there for “the little things” like Pinewood Derby prep…although that may count as a “big thing” :))
I didn’t know of your love for hands. The picture of Dad’s choked me up. I would recognize those hands anywhere!
You both make me so proud but surprise me on what you remember from your formative years…& how to tug my heart-strings. Tx/Xo, Dad
Awh! Looks like such a fun Sunday!
xoxo Kim
