It was dark when we arrived but we woke up to cold and flat lands in Nebraska. Our final destination for today was Salt Lake City because I had a flight home in the morning. By our calculations, we’d make it to SLC in time for an afternoon of exploring.
Tuesday’s sights included trains, snow and big blue skies. Finally we saw what we had been waiting for: the first highway sign announcing Reno. It wasn’t much longer before we found ourselves in the outskirts of Salt Lake City. Being the fiber folks we are, we made a point to do some real sight seeing at two local yarn stores which we had researched long before our arrival.
I wanted to buy a souvenir skein of locally dyed yarn at The Wool Cabin but alas, I walked out empty handed.
I did LOVE the sample knit I tried on at Blazing Needles. This shop had such an inviting feel, a wonderfully friendly staff, tons of samples to try and beautiful yarns.
Thanks to good friends, we had a great recommendation to try Thai Siam and our meals were amazing.
Did I mention that we had a backseat passenger on this adventure? Freya was a great sport and even let her mommy try a hat on her.
Kim and I spent the final night together watching the season finale of Downtown Abbey. It could not have been a better finish to the trip.
Love the dress on you. Hope you got the pattern at least!
