One of my quilting friends, Ms. Amanda Jean, just blogged about a project for a WIP bag that she made. (A WIP is a work in progress.) The neat thing about her bag is that it’s made with vinyl so the project is visible right away.
When she mentioned that she was going to publish the pattern, I offered to test it for her.
Lucky for me, she accepted my offer.
I made mine with scraps I had left from other projects and a zipper that my sweet niece, Kim, scored at an estate sale. The vinyl was also from a prior project although at this point, I can’t recall which one.
The entire time I was making this, I marveled at Amanda Jean’s clever construction. Inserting the zipper was truly easy! I’m happy with the results and will probably make more of these bags in the future. I just need to get some Wonder Clips first. They will make the bags almost sew themselves.
I thought these were sooo cool on her site. Haven’t ever sewn a zipper though! Do you use a special needle for this project?
Great idea. What are the dimensions? They probably could be made almost any size.
Fabulous job on both the zipper and the mitered corners!
Nice. Those would make good pencil cases as well
