What a treat to be able to attend Mass in another town! I visited St. Rose Philippine Duchesne on the weekend of her feast day. It was a lovely church with architecture reflective of the locale.
Chrissy and the girls picked me up and we had a knitting lesson. Don’t let my serious face alarm you. Tallie picked it up quickly and then I taught Chrissy.
Lily too expressed an interest and she sat on my lap while we knit together. When she tired of it, I finished up her piece and made her a special bookmark.
The girls’ dad came to pick them up which gave Chrissy and me time for a little toe treatment.
I ended the day with my buddy, Melissa. Her husband was a resident at the same time that Bill was and she and I became great friends. We spent the evening catching up on all the latest including her trip to China to run a half marathon on the Great Wall (!) and her imminent adoption of their daughter, Lysette.
I’m so grateful for good friends. It’s been years since we’ve seen one another and we only keep touch via text, but time stood still.
I had to have a photo with Melissa, her dog AND the cacti.
My trip to Phoenix ends tomorrow with an early flight home. It’s been such a full trip. It’s good to go away and even better to go home.
Looks like a lovely way to spend the day!
