Since Walker got scheduled to serve daily mass before we had a big plan for Spring Break, we decided to keep things mellow until we leave for North Carolina on Friday. Monday was generally mellow. I made big waffles for breakfast as a treat. We went to the Y to swim and we had plenty of down time to read. We found fun ways to pass the time without electronics.
As I pulled home from mass on Tuesday morning, the snow was falling.
It snowed heavily for about an hour, enough to cover the ground well but not enough to discourage the birds from stopping by for a snack.
We played several games of Monopoly.
Mason worked on push pinning and writing
and Walker worked on his creative writing project for 4-H. One day Mason had a play date with a friend and Walker and I went back to the movies to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman.
Mason started drawing Garfield sketches after taking a liking to the comic books. I bought him a sketch book to encourage him to write stories and illustrate them too.
Oh, and we even had a juggling lesson. With the help of my multi-talented jewelry friend, Jenni, we were tossing frogs, scarves and balls up in the air.
Tomorrow we head out of town on a Mason-inspired adventure.
SNOWing on Spring Break! Yikes!
Wish the boys could have seen Oma juggle. She was really a pro. Never could do it myself.
Looks like a low key, fun spring break!
xoxo Kim
