St. Nick’s Treats and Feasts

St. Nicholas day meant treats for the boys’ feet! This morning I had no problem getting them out of bed.

This year Mason received three tickets to see one of his favorite ventriloquist comedians perform in Indianapolis at the end of December. (Just three?  St. Nick knew that Bill would not be able to get out of work early enough to make the show with us.)

St. Nicholas left Walker a gift card for one of his favorite steak houses.  Even though he is vegetarian, he loves the black and bleu salmon at the Cork as well as the salad bar and stuffed mushrooms.

Today was also the first teacher appreciation luncheon of the year that I helped organize for the St. John staff. I came up with the menu idea and then a play on words pun: Our staff is SOUPer.  All of the food was provided by families from school.  We had eight different types of soup, two salads, fruit, homemade rolls and a plethora of dessert.

One of our favorite teachers was also celebrating her birthday today.

Because she follows a low carb diet, I made her a sugar free cheesecake.

The teachers are always so appreciative of these luncheon and it’s great fun to plan for their enjoyment.
