It’s been quite the week at St. John the Baptist. The first week of May is nationally designated as teacher appreciation week and our PTSA tries to make sure we spread the love lavishly upon our staff. While I have helped with it in the past, this year was my first at the helm.
Each day we showered them with love, appreciation, pampering and delicious food. We will filled their mailboxes with surprises.
Monday, May 7
We kicked off the week with chair massages and a popcorn bar in the work room after school.
The mailbox treat was this wee invitation for their after school treat. The popcorn for the bar was purchased from the movie theater, perfectly popped and ready to go.
Tuesday, May 8
We invited families to help support causes close to the teachers’ hearts by making free will offerings to the charities they designated. We stocked the teacher work room with breakfast casseroles, fruit, bagels, muffins and more.
Wednesday, May 9
We hosted a Taco Bar luncheon. It was a huge hit! Their mailbox treat was a gift card attached to a taco printable.
Here is one of three waves of teachers who enjoyed the luncheon.
Thursday, May 10
Kiddos wore shirts in their teachers’ favorite colors and we stocked teacher work room once again with afterschool beverages, snacks and sweets.
Families contributed La Croix sparkling waters and creamers for their coffee.
Friday, May 11
Tomorrow we will invite the families and students to draw, write or color a note to thank the teachers.
Our SJB family is very generous. I had so much help behind the scenes with getting all of this done but whew, am I exhausted!
