When Mom and Dad made their plans to visit, I told them our only commitment over the Christmas break was a scheduled Cub Scout outing at the City Museum Sunday to Monday. The timing worked perfectly because it allowed my parents to fly home from St. Louis.
That being the case, we packed up the car and headed out early on Sunday morning. We arrived in time for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. It was a fantastic place for a photo op of Mom in her new cowl.
After lunch we roamed around the mall.
It was not too surprising that this mall had both a Microsoft Store and an Apple Store and of course, they were about a stone’s throw from each other.
Walker really took interest in the Inspiron Duo convertible tablet netbook. He flipped the screen a handful of times and though I knew it was meant to do that, I feared that we would break it and thus own it.
We spent a good long time at the Apple store which was no punishment for the boys.
Walker really likes music and headphones.
The fountain was pretty but it turned out the mall security officers didn’t like it when folks stuck their hands in.
We managed to squeeze in Trader Joe’s run for snacks for the museum and treats for Bill and then headed off to find Crown Candy. We discovered this luncheonette and ice cream shop on one of the Man vs. Food shows. It is the oldest soda fountain in St. Louis and the boys loved investigating it with the man who never passes up an opportunity to treat for ice cream.
The weather was definitely chilly but that did not discourage Dad from getting a scoop of strawberry ice cream and the boys from getting milkshakes. Fortified for the evening’s adventures, we made our way downtown to drop off Mom and Dad at their hotel before we checked in at the museum.
Stay tuned for the scout adventures…
