Around these parts, Reitz Memorial High School is just known as Memorial. Memorial is the Catholic high school on our side of town that all of the Catholic grammar schools feed into.
Today they hosted a special mass just for the 5th graders and the seniors.
At the beginning of Mass, each of the grammar schools was recognized and so were all of the seniors from the school. It was wonderful to see our St. John graduates four years later as Memorial seniors.
If you look at our 5th grade class here, you will notice Walker is missing.
He and his classmate, Megan, were invited to sing in a choir comprised of two students from each grammar school. Our students wore our blue school polo. I’m not sure which school the girl in red is from but she was kind enough to smile for the camera.
Walker was chosen at random by our choir teacher to represent St. John and he felt so proud.
I am glad my schedule allowed me to attend as well. It was my first of what will be many Masses at Memorial in the coming years.
The adventures continue.
Hard to believe that Walker will be a 6th grader in summer!
