My, oh my! How is it popcorn time again?!?! Tonight was our kickoff meeting. For the fifth year and last year, I am the popcorn chair for the cub scouts. When Bill announced that I was passing the baton after this sale, he said, “This is Suzanne’s last year as the popcorn chair. Like all bad parents, we have said this before, but this time we mean it.” And we do.
To go out with a bang, I had a few surprises up my sleeve. Last night when I went to the giant district popcorn kick-off, I won this dual basketball set in a raffle.
Mason was so excited when I brought it home. My plan is to raffle it off, much to Mason’s disappointment. For every $50 of popcorn sold, a scout earns a ticket. Win, sell, win, right?
When it was time for my pep talk to the scouts, I came out doing a song and dance…literally!
Last year one of Walker’s classmates wore this as her Halloween costume. I asked her to keep me in mind if she was going to pitch it and she gave it to me! Woohoo! It’s a cardboard box with duct tape stripes and the popcorn is made of spray painted poly-fil. It looks great on but movement is severely restricted. I had to waddle like a duck.
Now that we are pumped about popcorn, we just need to get ours shipment to sell.
We have sold our last popcorn!!!! yeah yeah yeah Unfortunately/fortunately the Boy Scouts do MBU to raise money. (Fortunate because it is just one day, unfortunate because the parents have to do the work)
That will make a great Halloween costume!
