Sunday Fun Day started with an easy going breakfast. The kids got up and ate in shifts, catching up on cartoons while they waited. We heard lots of giggles from the couch. Meanwhile, Gramma had a plan for one of her world famous Easter egg hunts. Gramma is known for her clever planning and execution of said egg hunts.
She made a great adventure for the kids. We did it in stages. Part one was upstairs in the bonus room. Each kiddo had eggs that were designated in advance by color. Gramma always hides eggs based on ability and in her egg hunts, everyone gets the same number of eggs to find. It’s a brilliant system and works like a charm.
After the kids did their indoor egg hunt, they helped Gramma hide eggs for Monique and me. How fun! It turns out, I am not too old to enjoy a hunt. Thanks, Mom!
After lunch, we hopped in the car and drove to the north side of Phoenix to explore the Pioneer Living History Museum. According to the website, we were going to an old 1800s town with authentic buildings and historically accurate reproductions. The description painted a picture of a place where there would be live demonstrations by the blacksmith, the sheriff, cobbler, the cooper and the like. We should have known it was going to be interesting when we saw all the snake signs.
We hit the museum after lunch and it was darn hot. We were all melting and in search of some refreshment. We spent a good two hours there but it was not the adventure I had hoped for. Even still, we had a good time traveling there and back.
Back at our own ranch, Monique and I made dinner for everyone and we made a party for Frankie to celebrate her upcoming birthday. It was so much fun. She soaked up all the attention and loved the scavenger hunt we sent her on for her gifts.
We are going on a big road trip tomorrow so it was early to bed for all.
Moore happy memoties
