Walker is on a tear to get his merit badges done so we signed him up for Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Mason and I drove up with him and spent the day wandering around Terre Haute. My friend Jenni gave us some suggestions of places to go and things to do.
Square donuts? YES! Sign Mason up!
We drove down to the other side of town and did a little Christmas shopping while we waited for the Children’s Museum to open. We are coming to the time in our lives when the boys are starting to age out of children’s museums. We didn’t spend a long time here but I think there were a number of exhibits that interested Mason.
When we picked up Walker, he was all smiles about the day. He really enjoyed the fact that he finished his engineering merit badge in one sitting but he was even more enthusiastic about lunch in a college cafeteria. From the list of foods he consumed, I believe he took full advantage of the smorgasbord that Rose Hulman offers. That might have been the best $6 I spent to fill the pit we call Walker’s stomach.
Rose Hulman is a famous engineering school! Cool place to do a merit badge. Ken taught this badge and I am not sure either of my sons have finished it! Matthew has his Eagle board Monday.
Ah, yes, I heard all about this lunch. He has gotten Ben interested in going just for that reason!
