Try It Tuesday :: Chili Edition

As the school year approached, I was looking for a few ideas to streamline dinner.  I asked the boys for input and was really surprised when Mason suggested Try It Tuesday.  I am so excited! Everyone will get a chance to make a suggestion.  Sometimes we will eat at home and sometimes we will dine out.

I chose the first meal—LSDOD Secret Ingredient Chili. The boys made this for me on Mother’s Day 2015.  (The pictures are much better there.) It’s loaded with the usual chili ingredients and spices—ground beef, onions, garlic, beans, bell peppers and tomatoes—but it also contained slivered almonds and apple chunks as well.  We garnished it with real sour cream, raisins and good sharp cheddar cheese cubes. Tonight we served it with a quinoa and brown rice medley. 

Mason kept an open mind and gave it a good try.  The rest of us gave it rave reviews.  I can’t wait to what’s for dinner next week.
