This beautiful view greeted us on the last morning. We packed up our bags and fueled up our bellies at Chicago Waffles.
The boys both ordered the decadent Chicago’s Waffles Best, a Belgium waffle topped with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries, blueberry compote, candied walnuts, chocolate chips, caramel sauce, and whipped cream.
I ordered avocado toast—brioche bread, pesto, burrata cheese, mashed avocado, roasted tomatoes, one poached egg and watercress salad on top.
The drive home was uneventful, just as we wished it would be. We had a great weekend in Chicago and now it’s time to shift gears for our next adventure later this week.
