Yesterday after Walker departed, Bill, Mason and I spent the day together. We all went up to the workshop and Mason and Bill worked on cutting a new skateboard out. The former skateboard met its demise under the wheel of a car. The trucks and wheels were fine and Mason had begun to deconstruct it. He had found a spare piece of lumber in the garage and had attempted to create a new version. It was working but the board was not quire right. Since we have access to the workshop, Bill offered to let Mason cut a real piece of wood shaped the way he wanted for his new skateboard.
When that was all finished, Bill dropped Mason and me off for lunch at the Mongolian BBQ and he ran an errand. It was still early in the afternoon and it was a beautifully, sunny day. With the new Pokémon Go app in hand, we drove out to Burdette Park to go for a short walk.
We quickly realized that without hats we needed to stick to shady spots. Just off the path Mason spied a fallen tree waiting to be crossed.
Mason crossed several times before coaxing Bill to join him. Bill, of course, had to practice his Karate Kid moves.
I was the last to climb aboard. The drop was only about 4 feet but I’m no gymnast and that trunk was not that wide. Even though Mason coached me on how to walk across with angled feet, I was happiest when I was on the bank.
We had plenty of giggles about my fencing moves and then we set off for home.
