It is good to have hearts full of gratitude. Our day was traditional in the Selby sense. For the second year in a row, we ran the Turkey Trot as a family and again Kim joined us.
It was very cold!
We bundled up with several layers. Once we were moving, the cold was manageable but the wind was still biting. Having the sunshine helped a lot.
Between the race and when we left for the circus, I prepped for our Thanksgiving meal. The circus was as good as always and quite entertaining.
After riding the elephants and the camels, we settled in for the show. When the last act ended, we headed home for dinner. Thanks to turkey bags and delay start settings on the oven, we were greeted with the rich aroma of the turkey baking in the oven.
We had lively conversation around the dinner table with Kim and a menu that pleased everyone. As always, we took time to count our blessings and remember that indeed, we have many. Happy Thanksgiving!
love the “call me sign” from Mason while riding a camel.
I didn’t know going to the circus was a tradition for you guys. How fun!
How many years has it been now? I think we were there for the first one. What I learned then was to to buy the boys the laser wands until just before the show was over…too tempting to have sword fights!
